JOINING JAVEA U3A Anyone not in full-time employment can join the Javea U3A as an Associate Member at a cost of €12 per annum, renewable in January each year. There is a pro-rata rate for joining in any other month. Once enrolled you are entitled to join any of the activity groups (unless a group is already fully subscribed), and take part in the various events, travel trips and excursions. However, due to the large number of members and the limited capacity of the meeting room available at the Parador Hotel, where we hold our monthly meetings, Associate Members will not be able to attend the monthly general meetings. They are, however, very welcome to come to the Parador before the monthly meeting (i.e. between 10:00 and 10:50) to:
Our monthly meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month, apart from July, August and December when our Organisation is closed for holidays. Anyone interested in joining as an Associate Member should email the Membership Secretary who can advise on the next available date for enrolment. Over time, as vacancies arise, Associate Members will be invited to become full Member status and be able to attend the monthly meetings. The last date for renewal of your memberships for this year will be on Wednesday 24 February at the Parador, between 09.45am – 10.45am. Please make your way to the table marked for RENEWALS. All subscriptions fall due in January each year. The current rate of subscription for everyone is €12, covering the year January - December. People joining during the course of a year pay pro-rata. It would be extremely helpful, and save everyone’s time, if you can bring the exact cash payment to the January or February meeting. In future, a strict policy will be adopted towards prompt payment of renewal subscriptions. Membership will be withdrawn on 1 March - except where the Membership Secretary has either been informed of illness or an extended absence from Spain. This allows a grace period of two months for payment of subscriptions. Members who wish to renew their subscription, but who are not able to attend the January or February meetings in the Parador, should complete the membership renewal form, place it in an envelope with their appropriate subscription, and ask a friend to bring it to the meeting on their behalf.
