The aim of the group is to explore the basic settings of a digital compact camera and use a simple digital editing programme on the computer to improve photography. There is a photographic project each month providing the opportunity to try out different techniques. Sessions will cover:

1. Sharing information about the cameras owned by the group. Advantages and disadvantages. Tips for composition of photos.

2. Using the Macro setting for close-up photographs

3. Taking landscapes

4. Photographing people

5. Taking night scenes

6. Photographing moving objects

7. Using the movie mode, making a simple slide show

8. What to do with your photographs including sharing on the web.

The Beginners Digital Photography group resumed sessions for the New Year in January. This group will meet monthly until May. If there is sufficient demand it will be possible to run a further course starting in October. There already have some further expressions of interest.
