these have been negotiated with the supplier to get the best terms for U3A
members.
For major
purchases, such as cars or insurance, we would always advise that members
obtain quotes from other sources to ensure that the best deal is obtained.

● Fiesta Crafts
A Craft, Party & Gift Shop offers
members 10% discount on any products not already reduced. Fiesta Crafts
is on Ctra Cabo La Nao just around the corner from the New Wok Buffet,
almost opposite Barclays Bank.
● 20% DISCOUNT ON
PURCHASES AT TIFFANY’S JEWELLERS
Tiffany’s Design & Manufacturing
Jewellers, on Marina Espanola in the Port, now have cards for us to
show, when claiming our discount of 20% off purchases and 10% off
repairs. So, next time you are having your coffee or cocktails at Attico
or La Esquina, pop into Tiffany's and see Keith or one of his staff who
will happily register you & give you a card for your discounts.
CAR HIRE
● CAR HIRE EXCESS INSURANCE
A 20% discount is now available
on the insurance policy to avoid paying the excess
premiums with any car hire company. A Denia U3A member has used this policy
consistently for several years and has claimed on it with a totally
satisfactory outcome. The cost is £39.20 (GBP) plus 5% insurance tax. This a
saving of approx. £10. The web

Remember that the policy holder
must be the person renting the hire car, but additional drivers on the
rental agreement are covered. As always, please check this policy carefully
and compare it with others, it is only a suggestion to help you.
● CAR HIRE IN SPAIN
FROM SOL-MAR.
To supplement the discount on UK car
rental (see below), we have now negotiated a discount with SOL-MAR for
car rental in Spain. This will include visiting friends and relatives of
U3A members. SOL-MAR are located at many major Spanish airports,
including Alicante and Valencia, and also in many resort towns,
including Javea, Denia and Benidorm.
The following tables show prices
for cars in the 4 groups for which we have agreed discounts. Note that
one additional driver is included in the price and that there is no

This company have come up with fair
prices &, when coupled with no charge for an extra driver and a free
delivery one way, they become even more attractive. Like most hire
companies we have to pay an excess (the first £500) in the event of an
accident, or the repair cost if lower than £500 , if any damage is our
fault. In an accident , if the other driver is at fault, 1car1 will
claim this from his/her insurance.
